Warner Bros. DC Comics Universe

The widely published Warner Bros. DC Comics ‘leaked’ news on 6.12.14 followed information provided in the June 12th announcement that Warner Bros. consumer products division and Mattel Inc. extended their 15 year partnership to broaden product offerings based on the DC Comic characters. The deal provides rights to Mattel to produce toys and products for upcoming DC Comics films, animation and television projects developed by Warner Bros. during the agreement period.

Time Warner’s Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment also announced that it was continuing to pursue more aggressive expansion plans of superhero television and and film franchises in an effort to better compete with Disney’s Marvel Entertainment plans. That information did include some of the projects on the slate for the next few years. The ‘leaked’ slate of DC Comics projects included:

May 2016 – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
July 2016 – Shazam
December 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
December 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

Additionally, based on the DC Comics character Flash (Barry Allen), “The Flash” series is slated to debut on the CW television network this year. The Flash is a spin-off of DC’s “Arrow” existing in the same universe. Arrow just completed its second season. More about The Flash…
