The 45th Annual NAACP Image Awards Nominations

Nominations for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Awards were announced today. The NAACP was Founded in 1909 – the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization with a half-million adult and youth members. According to the organization’s website, “The NAACP Image Awards celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.”

Winners were voted upon by NAACP members and some were be announced February 21 during an awards ceremony for non-televised categories. The remaining categories were announced during a two-hour TV One telecast February 22. Winners are indicated in bold.
