Dane DeHaan stars in “Tulip Fever” as an artist who falls for Alicia Vikander, a young married woman he’s been commissioned to paint by her husband during the tulip mania of 17th century Amsterdam. The film is based on the novel by Deborah Moggach adapted by Tom Stoppard. From Deborah Moggach’s description of her novel:

Dated 1660, it depicted a young woman getting ready to go out. She gazes at us with an enigmatic expression, and, as I gazed back I wondered: where is she going? Should she be going there? She hung in my living room, silent with her secrets. Read more.
