“The Walking Dead” is an AMC post-apocalyptic horror drama series developed by Frank Darabont. Based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, the series premiered October 31st, 2010 and returned for its 6th season in 2016. Season 7 before premieres in October, 2016.
The series follows Rick Grimes, a former Sheriff’s deputy who was in a coma for several months after being shot while on duty. When he wakes, he discovers that the world has been taken over by zombies, and that he seems to be the only person still alive. From the series description:
The Walking Dead, the most watched drama in basic cable history, returns for another terrifying and exhilarating season October 2014. In Season 4, we saw Rick and the group of survivors fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison. Sadly, in this brutal world, happiness is short-lived and walkers and outside threats are no match for danger brewing inside the fences. The group’s home and new way of life is thoroughly tested, and their struggle to survive becomes more perilous than ever.
In season 5, the trailer conveys the series’ use of grim violence and intense conflict. Although the Walkers seem like a real threat, it’s the other people lurking along the route to DC that Grimes and his band of survivors must face, as they try to spread the cure for the zombie plague.
