Get Up Stand Up Bob Marley 30th Anniversary

Although Bob Marley made the 1976 song “Get Up Stand Up” famous in the 1980’s with the album “Legend” – see the music video below – it is now the basis for a film that celebrates the album’s 30 year anniversary. From the film’s description:

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Bob Marley’s iconic compilation album, Legend, we asked fans to submit photos on Instagram depicting the lyrics of “Get Up Stand Up” (literally and/or figuratively). After the campaign finished, we put them all together and made a music video. The above is the final result of that adventure. We hope you enjoy….

Bob Marley’s Legend album was number 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart the week of September 8th, 2014 after Google Play promoted the album to celebrate the 30 year anniversary. Marley also had a top 10 album during his lifetime when Rastaman Vibration hit No. 8 in 1976. As a part of the 30 year anniversary of the Legend album, Bob Marley’s family invited fans around the world to recreate the lyrics of 1973’s “Get Up Stand Up” to be used in the music video.
